 Is what I share in therapy confidential?

Whatever is shared in therapy remains in therapy accept under the following circumstances:

 

All therapists have limits to confidentiality. A therapist is legally obligated to report if a client is at a risk of harm to self or others, there is reason to believe a vulnerable individual is in danger (e.g. anyone under the age of 19 or an older adult in care), if a counselling file is court ordered (subpoenaed), and if a client is experiencing a medical/health emergency while in a counselling session.

How long is a counselling session?

 

You can expect 50 minutes of direct (face-to-face) time with the counsellor. A counselling file, however receives 60 minutes of time. The last 10 minutes are for scheduling subsequent session(s) and/or file management (clinical notes).

What is your cancellation policy?

 

R.S. Mental Health Counselling has a 48 business hours cancellation policy. There is a 50% (of the full session) charge for late cancellations or no shows.
